Douglas Adams var en britisk forfatter, særlig kjent for den humoristiske science fiction-serien The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (5 romaner, 1979–1992), som også er oversatt til norsk (Haikerens guide til galaksen). Adams skrev også flere andre bøker og manus til en rekke dataspill.
